Impish is now released but this problem persists in
linux-image-5.13.0-19-generic. Any idea when this will be fixed?
This isn't urgent because the kernel at
https://people.canonical.com/~mschiu77/lp1941773/I/ is working for me
for now on my Thinkpad E15 Gen 2 (AMD).

So the bug is confirmed. It appears to fixed by compiling the kernel

I have the same hardware as rudolfharney. Kernel panic still happening
in linux-image-5.13.0-20-generic even after rudulf's suggestion "start
BIOS, exit with SAVE=YES". Also, disabling the trackpad doesn't prevent
the panic.

Thanks elguavas! With both the trackpad and trackpoint disabled I can
now boot linux-image-5.13.0-20-generic. I can still move the cursor with
the trackpad and do mouse clicks with the trackpad (not the buttons).
Cold reboot requires exiting bios with the save option as others have
mentioned.

I also have a kernel panic still happening in linux-
image-5.13.0-20-generic on a Thinkpad E15 Gen 2. Haven't tried disabling

The kernel Chris Chiu compiled here:

works with my Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 2, AMD Ryzen 7 4700u with radeon graphics
× 8 (AMD Renoir graphic).
