I've never had this unit working properly under ubuntu or any other

I suspect that the problem still exists as I am unable to boot the CD.
It tries to load a file from the CD and after failing a good number of
times drops to the busybox shell.

The TEST_UNIT_READY problem still persists, the drive is now at ata3

I believe that I'm already at the latest BIOS revision. So I'm
