[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1574125] Re: suspend not working after uprade
Same here, desktop computer, Ubuntu Gnome 16.04. It doesn't do that all the time, but i would say 50/50 chance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574125 Title: suspend not working after uprade Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hi, Upgraded from Ubuntu 15.10 where suspend workes flawlessly. After upgrade, putting machine in suspend turns the monitor black and everything seem to be off, though the fan still spins, the power light is on and the battery is trained. Nothing seem to wake it up (Meaning different key combinations - trying to get a shell by Ctrl+Alt+F1, for example; pressing power, any other key). Unsure how to try to get it working since I have to kill the power by pressing down the power button, then restarting it (it then does a drive scan for errors). When running subsequently cpufreq-info, only one thread shows up (there should be 4). To put the CPU into its normal state requires a reboot. A partial fix: executing (as root): sync; echo 3 /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches sync; echo 0 /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches cat /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches frees memory.
