Hi Andrey Revert kernel on this specific ubuntu version inside hyper-v is a little bit tricky once at least on my VM´s i´m unable to access pre-boot grub menu. To accomplish this task i changed /etc/default/grub file using this article as reference:

I´ve been done some tests and one of our vm´s with Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS (GNU/Linux 4.4.0-63-generic x86_64) without cd rom still failing after kernel downgrade from 4.4.0-72 and CDROM removal during backup. I believe that there is some relation with Size of data inside of VHD´s because this
