Ok, dmesg looks good from mei driver point of view. Do you have network
slowdown (or other problems that manifests with 3.8) with this kernel?
The reset
You have to look at exact package version to know if you have new enough kernel.
linux_3.13.0-32.57 kernel is out in -updates repository, so you can simply
update your system to this package version.
The bug manifestation differs depending on kernel version, there are many
iterations in of driver
