[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1918586] Re: File system becomes read only during upgrade
I'm not able to access these machines physically as I'm getting remote hands to do it as they are in different countries. I'm unlikely going to be able to get you enough information to investigate this issue. I'm having the devices wiped and reinstalled. Sorry about that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-firmware in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1918586 Title: File system becomes read only during upgrade Status in linux-firmware package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I was alerted this morning by monitoring that a file system had become read-only. Upon inspection of the server I could see it had just finished updated (attempted to) automatically. I attempted to resolve the issue and the host went down. I then started my hot spare which is exactly the same hardware (Intel NUC) and same OS version 20.04 and as it been off for months applied the updates. During the upgrade of linux-firmware the system locked up and then eventually threw the error you can see in the terminal transcript attached. The system is then in a state where it is unable to boot.
