UPDATE: I solved *my* issue by disabling auotsuspend in the grub config. Now I
don't get the high CPU usage anymore.

So, first of all: Sorry for (kinda) 'reopening' this thread after such a long
time.
Today I noticed something very strange. One of my (16) CPU cores was pinned at
100%. After a bit of googling I stumbled upon this thread and read about people
pointing towards USB.
So what I did was unplugging ev
I use:
sudo echo "1" > /sys/bus/pci/devices/\:02\:00.0/remove
To remove only the affected PCIe card (mine is a PCIe USB 3.1 controller
card), and
echo "1" > /sys/bus/pci/rescan
To get it back online.
Though it only gets it back temporarily until the event is fired again.

Unfortunately the new Ubuntu kernel did not fix the issue, it only
worked fine during some reboots. I now tried mainline v4.16.6 and
v4.17-rc3, both did not fix the issue neither.

The system was only recently installed, so there was no other version of
the kernel before on this system. However, last week I could get my
hands on this system again and update/upgrade installed a new kernel
which fixed the problem, I did not have the possibility yet to check
whether it now also
Adding reboot=bios, reboot=pci, reboot=cold, reboot=warm, reboot=efi,
acpi=force to the kernel parameters list did not help.

After a little experimenting with different android developer settings I
can no longer reproduce this issue. I think the connection loop was
because of an Android usb issue and not an ubuntu kernel problem.

This issue does only occur if the usb debugging mode of android is used.
In the normal mtp mode I only see a bunch of warnings, but it seems to

Ok a new user triggers no oops messages and can start without problems.
After I renamed my .config directory I can also login with my old
account.
However with this user the oops messages are still triggered when I
login.
Something in my (kde5) config must trigger this oops message..

I have tested the 3.18 kernel from the repo and the problem remains. The
oops messages are also the same. Since kde has worked with 3.18 in the
past this seems very odd.
I have tried to reset the settings in kde and see if that helps, but no
luck with that.
