[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1933771] Re: Bluetooth headset random disconnects AX200
I've copied latest linux-firmware (a few days ago 20210919) and my setup has improved. I believe more patches on latest one have reduced this problem. I'll post more on the week when I confirm more. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-firmware in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1933771 Title: Bluetooth headset random disconnects AX200 Status in linux-firmware package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Using several different bluetooth headsets I find that the Bluetooth functionality of the built-in AX200 module of my motherboard keeps randomly disconnecting. I found that this has been fixed in recent Linux firmware updates, but I am not sure that fix has landed yet in Ubuntu Hirsute. Herewith I am posting the link to exactly the issue I am having: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/-/issues/1155 And the Linux Firmware commit that resolves this: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/commit/?id=73144e02dcff54529ab42d951de682740d204180 A related Fedora bug: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2021-93247f3274 It's difficult to relate the upstream kernel version firmware version in which this was fixed (linux-firmware-20210511) to the version of the linux-firmware Ubuntu package (for me). Perhaps someone can comment on whether this has been merged in. I am still experiencing disconnects with 1.197.1 at least. -- Description: Ubuntu 21.04 Release: 21.04 linux-firmware: Installed: 1.197.1 Candidate: 1.197.1 I expected: Bluetooth headset to remain connected What happened: Bluetooth headset connects, then randomly disconnects and reconnects while playing media To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1933771/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

This tool requires hci device to do the firmware loading, but this may cause some race condition between patchram tool and bluetoothd or something that also works on hci interface. Also it needs some hooks to make firmware loads after bootup, s3, s4, rfkill, and device hotplug events. Implement this loader in kernel module would make things more easier. This tool requires hci device to do the firmware loading, but this may cause some race condition between patchram tool and bluetoothd or something that also works on hci interface. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1589889] Re: Bluetooth search gets nothing on Dell XPS 15 9550
Updated firmware with latest one (version 481). Same as last one, decompress it, and ensure the permissions are correct on: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 54734 may 19 21:22 /lib/firmware/brcm/BCM- 0a5c-6410.hcd When loaded you should see something this on 'dmesg' like: [ 6828.577574] Bluetooth: hci0: BCM (001.001.005) build 0481 After more digging on how this works, looks like several broadcom chips have similar problems to load this type of files (bug #1129865, bug #1065400). According to a question in askubuntu (also best place of how the procedure to produce this .hcd files) http://askubuntu.com/questions/632336/bluetooth-broadcom-43142-isnt- working-on-ubuntu , there are some legal problems that don't allow this firmware files to be added to the Ubuntu installation Thanks a lot to @bertusrex on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2317843&p=13514092#post13514092 for getting into windows and getting us the firmware file. ** Attachment added: "version 481 of firmware bluetooth" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1589889/+attachment/4697483/+files/BCM-0a5c-6410_481.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589889 Title: Bluetooth search gets nothing on Dell XPS 15 9550 Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Title: Bluetooth search gets nothing on Dell XPS 15 9550 Summary: Bluetooth search gets nothing on Dell XPS 15 9550 Steps: 1. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1589886] Re: Wireless hotkey fails on Dell XPS 15 9550
Pressing wireless hotkey (Fn + PrtScr) with kernel 4.4.0-29-generic (the proposed kernel) now works! (turns on and off Bluetooth and WiFi) In dmesg I've seen the old warning still (between some lines for starting-up and down the network and bluetooth), [ +0,034110] dell_wmi: Unknown key 153 pressed I suppose that's just a 'nitpick'. I'm not sure if @kamalmostafa intended me to change the tag from 'verification-needed-xenial' to 'verification-done-xenial' though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589886 Title: Wireless hotkey fails on Dell XPS 15 9550 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in linux source package in Xenial: Fix Committed Status in linux source package in Yakkety: Confirmed Bug description: Title: Wireless hotkey fails on Dell XPS 15 9550 Summary: Wireless key does nothing on Dell XPS 15 9550. You are right that the bug #1574347 is closed and already applied on my system. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1594614] Re: Ubuntu 16.04 - Broadcom Corporation BCM43602 - wrong icon after first resume
After more digging, it might have been a mistake to contact the kernel drivers, as it seems there's a bug #1574347 on the network-manager component that might be producing this same error. Maybe we should rollback to avoid having kernel maintainers loose time? [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1589886] Re: Wireless hotkey fails on Dell XPS 15 9550
I've found the kernel code that is not processing this key-event. https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/platform/x86/dell- wmi.c#L218 Is there any way that the event is NOT ignored by that code in the case of the Dell XPS 15 9550? [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1580798] [NEW] Suspend breaks on gnome session not on unity session - dell xps 14z
Public bug reported: I've got two users on this computer. When using gnome 3 session the suspend behaves really quirky.
