[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1818811] Re: The swapfile on the Btrfs file system is not activated

2022-03-14 Thread Dawid M.
This bug still remains in the latest Xubuntu CORE 22.04

process, I can briefly see "[FAILED] Failed to activate swap /swapfile"
and "[DEPEND] Dependency failed for Swaps". When I execute "sudo dmesg |
grep -i swap", I get some more BTRFS warnings and swap-related failures:

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1721345] Re: ALC295 codec seems to have Master and PCM channels swapped

2020-07-24 Thread Dawid
I've fixed this issue on my Asus UX550VE, Ubuntu 20.04, kernel 5.4.0-42.
I followed Optiman's instructions, which are supposed to "activate
bottom speakers" using jack retasking:

https://askubuntu.com/questions/973690/my-volume-is-either-max-volume-
or-muted-no-middle-ground

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
When trying to use pulseaudio to control volume on my ASUS Zenbook Pro
UX550VE *uses AC295 audio codec) I noticed that pulseuadio is varying
the Master ALSA channel. If I vary that channel in alsamixer I get no
variation in volume. If I vary the PCM channel instead I get the
desired effect that volume buttons should have. Since pulseaudio
varies the Master channel by default and does not respect any
configuration settings telling it to use other settings, I suggest
swapping these two channels so that pulseaudio works out of the box.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1728244] Re: Touchpad stops working after reboot on Apollo Lake

2019-01-12 Thread Dawid Olesinski
Linux Mint uses Ubuntu kernels so it won't work as I have tried newer
kernels as well (I'm on Ubuntu 18.04) I haven't tried Manjaro but I have
installed Arch free days ago and it didn't work. I guess I will have to
stick to that kernel 4.14-rc7 for some time. I might give it a go with
Manjaro tho.

Hantick touchpad stops working after reboot.

  [Fix]
Disable runtime power management for the touchpad.

  [Test]
User confirmed it fixed the issue.
Some users reported it doesn't work for them, I'll ask them to file new
  bugs for different touchpads.

  [Regression Potential]
Low. Disable runtime power management doesn't affect devivce's
funtionality. In general desktop usage the graphical session opens the
touchpad HID device so the touchpad never get runtime suspended, so it
won't hurt power in this case.

On the Jumper EZBook 3 Pro (V4) laptop, using an Apollo Lake N3450 processor,
if you install Ubuntu 17.10 (or less) with isorespin and use rEFInd as
bootloader (this is the only way to get linux booting on this laptop)
everything works out of the box, but after a reboot or two the touchpad stops
working. Both in Ubuntu and Windows 10. The only way to restore functionality
is to boot from usb key ubuntu 17.10 respined, or disassemble laptop and
detach-reattach battery cable. This is mesg | grep i2c_hid:

EZBook 3 Pro v4 Touchpad stil not working. I've tried kernels from comment #187
(v4.15.0-35) and comment #221 (v4.15.0-43.46) and both haven't worked. I have
tried to reload modules for both kernels as well as suspending laptop. Nothing
helps.
Kernel v4.14-rc7 from comment #3 works correct apart from hard buttons.

Re: [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1586046] Re: Unclaimed register detected after reading register 0x65f10

2016-06-05 Thread Dawid Wróbel
There's a number of strange behaviors I observe, e.g. screen flickering,
networking issues, but I don't know if these can be attributed to this
specific kernel issue.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1541997] [NEW] dmesg flooded with xhci_hcd warnings "WARN Event TRB for slot 1 ep 8 with no TDs queued?"

2016-02-04 Thread Dawid Wróbel
Public bug reported:

I am running vmware, hosting a Windows 10 guest, relaying USB smartcard reader
and see a flood of following warnings in dmesg:
"xhci_hcd :00:14.0: WARN Event TRB for slot 1 ep 8 with no TDs queued?"

I only presume they are related to vmware/usb smartcard reader, I can't
be sure.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1070207] Re: Trackpoint doesn't work on Thinkpad L530

2015-08-09 Thread Dawid
I still have a problem with trackpoint (trusty). Using elantech patch is
working okay, I installed dkms module and... it's not initializing
automatically. Trackpoint is not working, however when I use this
modprobing:

sudo modprobe -rv psmouse sudo modprobe -v psmouse

It is starting work (trackpoint and scrolling) to the next restart. I
don't know why it's happening. I have correct entry in /etc/modprobe.d
/trackpoint-elantech.conf. I am attaching dmesg.log to clear the
picture.
