This past week or two I've noticed that this issue is solved! I have apt upgrades automatically scheduled every so often, so I imagine there was a kernel release that fixed this issue. I’ve also had some issues with the audio, but I’ve been able to fix that up by fiddling with pulseaudio. Re the bug fix, should I try a clean install? This isn’t optimal since I’m mostly set up now, but would this help the bug fix take effect? I’ve also had this thought. I’ve tried this, but the flickering will start before then, usually during the startup splash and login screen. I've tried 5.7 and the problem seems to persist - weird, since I thought that Kernel supported through TIger Lake and this machine runs an Ice Lake. Yep - I’ve tried removing nomodeset after this update but it hasn’t seemed to take away the flickering, leaving it on for the time being until the bug is fixed. Removing nomodeset reverts back to the original screen flickering problem with almost zero usability. Are there any other solutions to this? Thanks for the response here. I’ve been using nomodeset which has gotten rid of the flickering as a temporary fix, will modeset do the trick?
