[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1931574] [NEW] Lost network connection, seems like an older kernel bug

I experience what seems the exact copy of the issue here after I have connected
my Dell laptop to a Dell Monitor with an embedded Ethernet over
USB-C/Thunderbolt (and USB-B High Speed Upstream Cable). Suddenly no network
connection and it can not be restored for a long time or until reboot.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1813663] Re: External monitors does not work anymore 4.15.0-44

2019-01-31 Thread Egor Kobylkin
My workaround was to ban the 4.15.0-44 from the system.
sudo apt-mark hold linux-*-4.15.0-44-generic
sudo apt remove linux-*-4.15.0-44-generic

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1620811] Re: [Asus K501UW] FTE1001 touchpad detected as mouse

2016-11-17 Thread Egor
Beta version of the DKMS driver for FTE1001 touchpad (written by Brendan
McGrath, Victor Vlasenko and Frederik Wenigwieser) is available here:
https://github.com/vlasenko/hid-asus-fte-dkms

The driver seems to work well; everyone is welcome to try it out and
report any issues to github.

The touchpad on Asus K501UW laptop is detected as a mouse, so I can't

UPD: I was unable to identify the touchpad manufacturer. I assumed it
was FocalTech but all of their touchpads are PS/2, while mine is i2c.
The only label it currently has is "asus touchpad".

The bug appears in Ubuntu Mate 16.04.1 x64 and Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon
  x64, both with kernel 4.4.0-31. I've also tried Linux Mint 17.3 x64

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1620811] Re: [Asus K501UW] Focaltech touchpad detected as mouse

2016-09-22 Thread Egor
UPD: I was probably wrong in claiming that this is a FocalTech touchpad.
All of their touchpads are PS/2 (and allegedly fully supported starting
with kernel 4.1), while my touchpad is i2c.

FTE pnpid stands for Frontline, according to
http://www.uefi.org/sites/default/files/resources/PNPID_List.pdf, while
Focaltech is FTS. However, Frontline support says they do not produce
touchpads and never did.

In the end the only label the touchpad currently has is "asus touchpad".
