The following commit fixes this by ignoring die events that is not an

While we are waiting for upstream to include the patch, is this bug
report and attached patch something that would be suitable for me to
share on zfs forums so other keen Ubuntu zfs-on-root users can have a
workaround, or would that constitute rushing out a fix without
review/testing?

Hi Richard and Dider, thanks - I have set up encrypted swap on mdraid1
instead. It works but is subject to the same cycle issue - sometimes
swap doesn't load, sometimes the boot zfs pool won't mount.
I went to apply the patch, but my system doesn't seem to have the two files
that are referenced,
...actually going over my notes again, I actually did install grub-
related zfs packages separately from debootstrap:

Can confirm the same behaviour on my systems too. Updating systemd
recently caused the entire routing table to be dropped (I had console

It does seem fairly consistently better with 3.15.0-031500rc2-generic
Have marked as confirmed as requested but I'm happy for nothing more to
happen and stick with this kernel which will presumably come through in
future updates anyway.
Thanks

A day or so after updating the BIOS performance returned to what it was
before or possibly even worse so I suspect it was just coincidence that
it seemed better.
Today I have been trying the trusty 3.15rc2 kernel and it seems much
more stable but will keep using it for a few days before casting
Things appear somewhat better (less frequent disconnects though still
occurring) though it seems unlikely to be as a result of the BIOS update
given that the description was Fix system boot fail issue.
