Christopher, thanks for doing that research for me. I upgraded the BIOS (easy enough :-)) No improvement - the middle button is still not recognized at all. I don't want to hijack a bug report (see my test at #22), but I strongly believe that this should not be offloaded to "a buggy BIOS". I am experiencing the same behaviour on quite a different system, it is (obviously?) a regression since it worked (on the same system) under 15.10 and previous versions. I agree that my BIOS is rather old but the notion "well, bad luck, you will have to buy a new motherboard to be able to use your mouse like before" gives me the creeps.
