[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1720622] Re: Cannot wake-up from sleep mode
We have mostly the same lspci output, Kai Heng. I attach a picture of the comparison. I'm going to visit https://bugzilla.freedesktop.org/ and hopefully someone will understand what is happening with that bug. Please note that I reinstalled Ubuntu 17.10 completely (the first time was an upgrade from 17.04) to eliminate any residual component that may interfere with the test. The results are the same. I also tried sleep mode from an USB live flash drive installation of Ubuntu 17.10. The result is a bit different: on wake-up, the monitor powers on and displays the desktop, but the desktop is frozen and only a corrupted mouse cursor can be moved. ** Attachment added: "lspci-cmp.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1720622/+attachment/4962329/+files/lspci-cmp.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1720622 Title: Cannot wake-up from sleep mode Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Since Ubuntu 17.10 (development version) my computer can go to sleep mode but it cannot wake up. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1720839] [NEW] Computer goes to sleep mode after a gaming session
Public bug reported: My computer is configured to go to sleep mode after 2 hours of inactivity. I played a game for more than two hours on Steam, using only the gamepad. I exit the game. Actual result: the computer goes immediately to sleep mode Expected result: the computer stays awake. My guess is that either Steam or the game locked the wake-up mode, and when I exited the game, the lock was released. Meanwhile the 2 hours timer was not stopped and instead was running and expired after 2 hours, leading to a sleep mode switch when the lock was released. I don't really know which system module (kernel? gnome?) manages that specific power management use case so I leave the package to blank for now. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1571297] Re: Freeze then kernel panic on wake-up
I've been using 16.04 for one month and the test case pass now. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1571297 Title: Freeze then kernel panic on wake-up Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: I've been using the sleep mode feature of Ubuntu for years and it used to work very well. Since some days ago, I am experimenting problems: * I put the computer to sleep mode. * Later I wake-up the computer. * The computer wakes-up incompletely: I can move the mouse cursor but clicking has no effect. I try to recover from that problem: * I login in a console with Ctrl+Alt+F1 then kill all my processes. * The login screen appears and I can again interact with the GUI. * I login and it seems I can use the computer normally. * I start playing a video, several seconds later I experiment: * a total freeze of the computer with the exception of the mouse cursor (the keyboard does not work anymore); * a kernel panic. I usually have a null pointer error (I think it is in a function called send_vblank_event), and once I had a random page fault.
