I tried downgrading to 4.4.0-101-generic - no change I tried adding the ppa ppa:ci-train-ppa-service/2685 and using sudo apt update then sudo apt full-upgrade to upgrade bluez to 5.46 in Linux Mint 18.2 - this improved things a bit. Less video freezing and able to resume from freezing. No other wireless devices. I use the touchpad or a wired mouse on my laptop. The other very strange part is that the longer I play audio through the internal speakers, the longer bluetooth plays before the problem arises. If I only play a few seconds through the internal speakers, I only get a few minutes of bluetooth. Longer through internal, longer through bluetooth. Sorry to report that bug still persists. Took longer to show up though. Was able to watch video for about 15 min. Slowly started losing sync between audio and video, then eventually video freezes. Unable to resume normal playback even after reboot. Able to resume if I play video through built in speakers for a time then switch back to bluetooth. After about 15 minutes, problem resumes, again until I play audio through built in speakers. I have reported it on the ubuntu support forums and after investigation a moderator noticed changed in the kernel from 4.4 and 4.2 that may becausing the issue and asked me to file a bug report. Turned out to be a hardware issue. My bluetooth would give errors on startup and only work intermittently. Edited /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf and blacklisted bluetooth and btusb. Also disabled it via: sudo systemctl mask dbus-org.bluez.service. Still freezes with the grub modification. Tried kernel 4.5.2, same problem. For me it seems to happen most frequently with changing power sources while suspended (ie. plugging in or unplugging while suspended) At least I can avoid this. So far have tried kernels: 4.8-rc5 - breaks Wi-Fi 4.6.7 - breaks Wi-Fi 4.4.9 - still random freezes on resume from suspend 4.2.8 ckt13 - still random freezes on resume from suspend The only other thing I can think of is that I installed TLP shortly after installing this version of elementary. Not sure if that is causing a problem. My system hung this morning, so no improvement with updated drivers. Trying the 4.4.8 mainline kernel next as some have suggested. Followup to my last comment. Checked which packages were installed, they were all from oibaf ppa so removee xorg-edgers ppa for the time being. So far no further freezes, but will report back later. Same problem here. Lenovo G510 with I5 and integrated graphics. Just installed elementary OS Loki Beta. Currently running 4.4.0-36-generic. Randomly freezes on resuming from suspend. Screen does not blank out, windows are visible but everything is unresponsive including mouse/touchpad. Happens about 1 in 4 resumes. Thinking this might be a video driver issue I just added the oibaf and x-org/edgers ppas to update my graphics drivers to the latest by doing: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade I'm not certain this will have any effect at all or even if it is a good or bad idea to add both. One is likely enough. Did it this morning, and so far no more freezing, but that might be luck. I will report later in the week.
