[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1420839] Re: [Acer Extensa 5620Z] Supend/Resume fail (reboots)
Hi, Christopher. I didn't test hibernate (I didn't think of it). I have test now with my actual kernel and with the two mainline kernels. Here are the results of pm-hibernate: Current 3.13.0-46-lowlatency: - it works perfectly. No strange behaviour observed. So it can be used as a Workaround. Mainline v3.19-vivid and Mainline v4.0-rc2: observed same behaviour: - When hibernates, screen goes black, screen goes on, harddisc work, screen goes black but power light shines on orange (normal colour is green) and flashes (exactly the same as if it would be suspended). - Pressing space bar or Power button gets no reactoin - Hold down Power button to switch off. Power on. Booting again restores back hibernated state normally (no crash message). - Halt and Shut down from menu works normal -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1420839 Title: [Acer Extensa 5620Z] Supend/Resume fail (reboots) Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: I have observed that - From terminal: pm-suspend, pressed space bar, resumes (no lock screen) - From GUI: supend, pressed space bar, resumes (lock screen) Resumed several times. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1418918] Re: Kernel Panic - not syncing - UbuntuStudio 14.04.1 64bits
As an additional information I can say I have no idea what might be the cause of the crash (yep, very helpful indeed) but: - on my extensa 5620z wifi was only working out of the box no liveCD and manually configured. Computer was working properly and nicely until kenel linux-image-3.13.0-44-lowlatency - I tried official intel video card drivers until version 1.0.5 with no problem (even it should not work in lowlatency kernel). Solved problem with 1.0.6 unintalling and http://askubuntu.com/questions/507302/updated-intel-display-driver-causing-errors-when-booting but computer was working correctly - Serveral kernel upgrades - Upgraded to linux-image-3.13.0-44-lowlatency - Experienced crash - Computer was working normally - Upgraded to linux-image-3.13.0-45-lowlatency - Experienced crash - installed Google Chrome from official package to try whatsapp web. When opened whatsapp web interface computer crashed. reboot. Tryed it, uninstalled Chrome. computer worked ok. - Experienced crash I hope this is of any help and not too confusing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1418918 Title: Kernel Panic - not syncing - UbuntuStudio 14.04.1 64bits Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Installed Ubuntu Studio 64bits with no problem. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1312918] Re: Ubuntu14.04: Kernel Panic - not syncing on Ubuntu installation
I have intalled a fresh copy of Ubuntu Studio 14.04. Upgrade kernel without a problem until: - linux-image-3.13.0-44-lowlatency - linux-image-3.13.0-45-lowlatency That I got couple of times this kernel panic crash. Normally when I don't use the computer but with Firefox opened. I use now kernel 3.13.0.-43-lowlatency with no problem. ** Attachment added: photo_2015-02-05_23-37-25.jpg https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1312918/+attachment/4313523/+files/photo_2015-02-05_23-37-25.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1312918 Title: Ubuntu14.04: Kernel Panic - not syncing on Ubuntu installation Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I am getting the following error when I try to install Ubuntu desktop 14.04 on my HP Pavilion a320n.
