[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1851162] Re: nvidia-drivers-390 fail to build with kernel 5.3
I took the kernel update to 5.3.0-28.30~18.04.1 as well as the 390.116-0ubuntu0.18.04.3 nvidia driver updaate. The driver built fine, and its running fine on 5.3.0-28 for me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-390 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1851162 Title: nvidia-drivers-390 fail to build with kernel 5.3 Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers-390 package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers-390 source package in Bionic: Fix Released Bug description: nvidia-graphics-drivers-390 fails to build against linux 5.3. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1860295] [NEW] dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-dkms-390 fails for kernel 5.3.0.-26
Public bug reported: After the update from 5.0 to 5.3 the dkms reconfigure of the nvidia-390 kernel module fails. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1455937] Re: HP 1018 not seen after upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04
I found the problem. It had nothing to do with kernels. The udev rule 56-hpmud.rules was left over from 14.04 through the upgrade to 15.04. The action it induced when the printer is connected broke the printer identification. Removing the rule fixed the problem. This udev rule was part of the hplip package, and did not cause the identification problem on 14.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455937 Title: HP 1018 not seen after upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: My usb connect Hp Laserjet 1018 worked on Ubuntu 14.04 but after a update through 14.10 and then 15.04, CUPS no longer sees it. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1455937] Re: HP 1018 not seen after upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04
Before I get into bisection, I did another experiment. I also have a macbookpro running Ubuntu 15.04 same kernel. I plugged the printer into the macbook and it is properly recognized. I'm attaching the relevant portions of the syslog from the workstation and the macbook. They are quite a bit different. The workstation, is the original machine that lost the printer after the upgrade. The macbook is running the same OS/kernel but sees the printer. ** Attachment added: syslog on machine that worked https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1455937/+attachment/4401190/+files/macbook-log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455937 Title: HP 1018 not seen after upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: My usb connect Hp Laserjet 1018 worked on Ubuntu 14.04 but after a update through 14.10 and then 15.04, CUPS no longer sees it. Re: [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1343248] Missing required logs.
Unfortunately I am on a production machine and due to the server hanging and becoming unresponsive, I had to reinstall ubuntu 12.10 server edition. The problem does not appear in this 12.10 But then I found that this softlockup problem has been solved and the last working kernel version that was reported to be working fine was 3.12.0-8 see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1269404 Now http://www.spinics.net/lists/kernel/msg1716965.html This is a patch that was believed to be solution to the problem. But in the upstream kernels I do not see the patch applied. So could this patch be applied upstream into 3.16 ? Please let me know.
