the bug was set back to status incomplete and I wonder whether anything

Now it worked ... Last time I did not do sudo apt-get udate after
starting from DVD ...
Nevertheless, I am not sure that the output is what you expect. There
was an error message
dpkg-query: no packages found matching linux

Hello Christopher,
I burned the 14.04 image to disc and tried it out from there - touchpad
is not working. apport-collect is not part of the package and installing
it is not possible when trying out from disc. On the other hand, I
hesitate to upgrade my computer now to 14.04 pre-version as I am af
familiar with German:
- grub.cfg wird erstellt --> making grub.cfg
- Linux-Abbild gefunden --> Linux image found
- erledigt --> done
- Fehler traten auf beim Bearbeiten von --> errors occured when processing

After using the touch pad under Windows to find out some details - it is
Synaptics ClickPad V8.1 - it gets listed as output of xinput --list but
is not in the output of /proc/bus/input/devices.
