After re-installing Ubuntu, I was able to get the package onto the device using
a USB stick.
I then updated Ubuntu, and then installed the package from my Downloads folder.
However, upon reboot, I'm now taken to the GRUB boot menu. From there,
it is hit or miss on whether or
Disabling the (execute disable bit) xd bit in bios and disabling the
virtual machine options in bios appears to greatly have improved these
issues (at least for now) there arent many bios options on this
motherboard (including none at all for the ram) and at present I am not
sure which of these

after my last response I had a series of bad life events one after
another for a few months that kept me away.
I'm happy to report that this no longer seems like an issue for me in

Is this working yet? Having the same exact issue on my Geo Book3X, needs
too much pressure to move the cursor with the touchpad and left and
right click do not work.

This error happened before December (Nov. 19) on my Xubuntu. Not being very
comfortable with Linux, I copied the error screen to ask the question later on
a forum.
I'm using Xubuntu 18.04.1 LTS 64 bits. 4.15.0-43-generic

Looks like running the install/clean/update resolved
the problems. check for updates, and everything is up to date now.
