Just did a fresh install of 20.04.3 LTS, updated & installed linux-
generic-hwe-20.04 and it booted up just fine. Only difference is
/etc/default/grub on a client's appliance, this is the default/grub on
the machine that freezes:

Bug description:
Ubuntu 20.04.3 Installed since May 2020, now fails to boot into graphics mode
after upgrade to kernel version linux-image-5.13.0-27-generic - Have tried
linux-image-5.13.0-28-generic with same result, I have reverted back to
5.11.0.40 which works correctly.
