[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1575334] Re: Docking thinkpad laptop causes a complete system freeze

Hi, Sorry for losing track of this. My current situation is that on the latest xenial kernel (4.4.0-31-generic) I can happily dock and undock without the laptop freezing. ... instead, after undocking the laptop freezes when trying to suspend. I'll do some investigation, and if I can't figure

Hi Joseph, Sorry, but I haven't gotten around to trying the last kernel you posted. In the meantime, Xenial had a new kernel released: 4.4.0-25-generic. In this latest kernel, I can now dock without everything freezing - yay! However, I now can't undock without everything freezing - booo!

Hi Joseph, Sorry for the late reply. I've tried testing both those kernels, but couldn't boot wither either of them: I have full disk encryption set up on this laptop, and when booting these kernels I'm unable to enter my decryption password. The UI appears, but pressing keys on the keyboard

I can confirm that this still happens in the kernel from -proposed, although it's possible it's less frequent (not sure about that, I may be mistaken). I've added the appropriate tag back to the bug. ** Tags added: kernel-fixed-upstream -- You received this bug notification because you are a

Ugh - sorry about this, but I realise I've messed up. I assumed that when you install a new kernel package it becomes the default kernel that grub boots. I now know that's not the case. I've gone back and re-tested all the mainline kernels: 4.2.0, 4.3.0, 4.4.0, and 4.6.0 all work perfectly with
