Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * Fixes issues connecting bluetooth devices using SSP (Simple Secure
Pairing); which does include many newer bluetooth devices, especially
  keyboards.

  [Test Case]

   * Try to connect a bluetooth keyboard using the wizard; especially
  one of the following models:

  Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard K760
  Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard K810
  HP Bluetooth Keyboard K4000

  [Regression Potential]

   * It must be ensured that keyboards that could already be paired
successfully still work properly; specifically, especially for
keyboards but for any other devices, that pairing still works despite
  changes to the SSP code.

  [Other Info]

When I try to connect my bluetooth keyboard using bluetooth-wizard, it
  ever fails:

  ** (bluetooth-wizard:11367): WARNING **: Setting up 'Logitech K760'

This keyboard works fine with another computer under ubuntu 11.04.
This keyboard works fine with this computer and Windows 7 (arghhh).
This computer ubuntu 12.04 works fine with my bluetooth mouse.

I can attach manually this keyboard to this computer using :

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1035431] Re: bluetooh-wizard failed to connect to a keyboard(logitech)

2014-06-11 Thread Tim Chen
@Scott,

Hi, thanks for the testing and feedback,
that was because gnome bluetooth wizard is waiting the SSP callback event from
the agent (and it may have different timing for different devices), currently
it will briefly shows the usual PIN code page and switch to the SSP page when
it recieve the callback event.

I will try to get some time to see how to fix this more properly and not
broke gnome bluetooth wizard's current structure since this indeed
affect user experience, but the current patch should be enough to fix
the original SSP paring issue.

Title:
NFS kernel server creates a kworker with 100% CPU usage, then hangs
  randomly

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
This concerns the server edition of 14.04. I have set up a NFS server.
Once I attach at least one client, one kworker process starts to use
100% CPU. The runaway kworker returns to idle when I reset the NFS
server daemon with service nfs-kernel-server stop followed by
service nfs-kernel-server start. With the nfs kernel server stopped,
the CPU remains idle. With the nfs kernel server running, as soon as
one client requests a connection, the kworker process jumps to 100%
  CPU again.

After some random time, the nfs kernel server no longer accepts
requests from clients. Restarting the service allows clients to
reconnect. The syslog shows no relevant information.

Configration: The svcgssd is not running. I played with various
configurations (enabling/disabling NFSv3 and NFSv4), but it makes no
  difference.

I tried to nable event debugging:

  # echo workqueue:workqueue_queue_work /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/set_event
  # cat /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/trace_pipe /var/tmp/kerntrace.txt

and found the following kernel trace in a tight loop:

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1219560] Re: Can't pair Logitech K810 using GUI

2014-05-05 Thread Tim Chen
Hi,

For people who has this keyboard (logitech K810 or logitech K760 ),

can you help me to test the packages mentioned in

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
bluetooth/+bug/1035431/comments/27

I've got an HP keyboard has the same issue and provided a fix, if the
result is positive I'll send an SRU to Trusty. (Ubuntu 14.04)

Title:
Can't pair Logitech K810 using GUI

Status in “bluez” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I cannot pair the Logitech K810 keyboard to my computer using the
graphical interface provided by Ubuntu. Whenever I try I get two
  possibilities:

  1. The GUI will show me a password, which I must type in the keyboard.
After typing the password and pressing ENTER, the pairing will fail.

  2. The GUI will hang for about a minute, and then fail to pair.

The only way I can successfully pair the keyboard is by looking at the
output of hcidump -at while attempting pairing, and finding a line of
output displaying the password that I must type, then typing that in
the keyboard. The procedure I follow for successful pairing can be
  seen in this URL:

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1236233] Re: BIOS that SMIBIOS is not fuly supported by dmidecode causes image autmatic installation fail

2014-01-09 Thread Tim Chen
Could we backport the saucy's (or trusty's ) dmidecode to Precise? I try
to find the bzr branch but lp:dmidecode seems a bit outdated.

The suffix of hostname is too long and makes ubiqutiy automatic installation
failed

Here is the error message in /var/log/installer/debug when installtion
  is failed.

  Traceback (most recent call last):

In automation installtion, ubiquity uses product name from BIOS as hostname
suffix by
parsing dmidecode output, but if a SMBIOS version is large thatn the version
dmidecode supported,
  the output of `dmidecode -s system-product-name` or `dmidecode -s
system-version`
contains the following warring message, so that hostname suffix is invalid.

  The warring message is

  # SMBIOS implementations newer than version 2.7 are not
