Title:
Bluetooth mouse usage makes A2DP audio stutter

Status in bluez package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: bluez

When I use my Bluetooth A2DP headset (Philips SHB7102) together with
my mouse (Lenovo Bluetooth Laser Mouse), I notice this:

Whenever I leave the mouse still for a few seconds (it seems to enter
some kind of lower-power-mode) and then start to move it, my music
most of the time skips for a second. This makes using these two
  bluetooth devices together quite annoying...

The adapter is a Lenovo ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate
II (Bus 004 Device 005: ID 0a5c:2145 Broadcom Corp.)

I am running current karmic amd64 (linux 2.6.31-9).

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1237296] Re: 168c:0036 [Acer Aspire E1-572] ath9k QCA9565/AR9565/QCWB335 Bluetooth works sporadic

2014-02-24 Thread Uldis Kalniņš
Quick'n dirty fix to get both USB3 and Bluetooth running every time - do
automatic xhci_xcd unload / load cycle until no error messages in syslog
is detected:

Needs:
1. custom compiled kernel with xhci_xcd as module, not builtin.
2. Upstream kernel with device ids for 168c:0036 or recompiled modules from
https://github.com/Satius/mod_0cf3_311f source.

1. Install Logmon from here
http://code.google.com/p/linscripts/wiki/logmon
2. Copy logmon.sh to /usr/sbin
3. Create executable shell script with following contents in /usr/sbin:

sudo touch /usr/sbin/logmon-run.sh
sudo chmod +x /usr/sbin/logmon-run.sh

paste in:
#!/bin/bash
rmmod xhci-hcd
modprobe xhci-hcd

4. modify /etc/rc.local, add before line exit 0

/usr/sbin/logmon-run.sh
/usr/sbin/logmon.sh /usr/sbin/logmon-run.sh -m Error in firmware loading
/var/log/kern.log

Indeed, additional minor bug found for HP ProBook 450 G1, unfortunately no time
to go in deeper checks - if USB3 is disabled in kernel, then after suspend /
resume all USB ports are dead. Until suspend everything is working perfectly in
USB2 mode. So no way to live without USB3.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1260825] Re: 168c:0032 ath3k built-in bluetooth cannot load firmware - sporadic

2014-02-23 Thread Uldis Kalniņš
Try to rebuild kernel without USB3 support. This chipset is known unstable with
it. This bug is pretty same to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1237296
Check with lsusb -t if affected device is bellow USB3 hub.

Title:
  168c:0032 ath3k built-in bluetooth cannot load firmware - sporadic

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
This is on an ASUS N550JV. Basically, the Bluetooth is sporadically
available after restart/login. When not available, we get an error msg
in dmesg about a patch that failed to load.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1237296] Re: 168c:0036 [Acer Aspire E1-572] ath9k QCA9565/AR9565/QCWB335 Bluetooth works sporadic

2014-02-23 Thread Uldis Kalniņš
I can confirm same problem and solution - missing device id's and USB3
incompatibility (very sporadic working) for HP ProBook 450 G1.
Kernel id patch and custom compiled kernel with disabled USB3 completely
resolves bluetooth problems.

Below - output with default kernel:

uname -a
Linux oskars-HP-ProBook-450-G1 3.11.0-17-generic #31-Ubuntu SMP Mon Feb 3
21:52:43 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Custom kernel is same as original kernel, except disabled USB3 and patched
ath3k.ko and btusb.ko, compiled from https://github.com/Satius/mod_0cf3_311f
source.

Unfortunately from tomorrow i'll be mostly unable to test any changes,
since that computer goes away in production.

4.0 combination adapter, Wireless is working fine. But Bluetooth
doesn't, it seems to be successfully deteced but I can't see any other
Bluetooth devices and they can't see me too.

  Yours sincerly
