Hi, I have the same problem with Sound Blaster MP3+ usb sound card. I tried doing apport-collect, but it says the bug is expired. Should I open a new bug report or is it possible to reopen this one?

Value CT4871 Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: Upon bootup of Kubuntu 8.10, there is only static (white noise) sound, and it does not go away. Therefore, no sounds can be heard (CDs, System Sounds, Video) over the noise. The soundcard is plugged into my speakers correctly (I have used other versions of Linux in the past and it has worked fine.)...Nothing but white noise. Thanks.
