Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 with Intel(R) HD Graphics 2500
Problems experienced on fresh install of kubuntu or mate 20.04.02
(Automatically) Chosen kernel in these instances is the 5.8 kernel.
NO issues with the 5.4 kernel - or the 5.8.0-48 kernel
Problem: Operating system
I was using linux-image-5.8.0-55-generic:amd64 - this kernel still has the
issues.
Reverting to 5.8.0-48 removes the issues.
Changing to the 5.4 kernel (latest) also removes the issues

I tried `v4.14.0-041400-generic` kernel, when I close & open lid it doesnt hang
at all.
I left lid closed for hours & it woke up like charm.
But when I checked `/var/log/syslog` & `/var/log/kern.log` there was no text
about suspending.
Not even single line was printed.
So I think its not

Its been 2 years, Current version of kernel is 5.4.* and still not fixed.
I have this problem from beginning (2019) & I don't have nvidia GPU.
I tried all except downgrading kernel.
Does anyone can tell which version I should test. I looked up but some said
4.14 works others 4.15.

Did the ppl with the new BIOSes double test the 'Power Supply Idle
Control' option by disabling it temporary? Because, it could also be
fixed by that Agesa update some of you mentioned (also mentioned in [1])
tl;dr:
Had soft lockup at full load, BIOS-update seems to help, but it doesn't have

4. Download kvalo's kernel tree from:
https://github.com/kvalo/ath/archive/master.zip
and extract it to a folder (no need to apply any patch, it's been merged
already).
5. Navigate to the extracted folder and run the following commands:
cp /boot/config-`uname
in order to get the md raid
drivers for raid0 on my system, as the desktop version doesn't support them.
