Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.4 kernel[0]. It resumes fine when I open the lid in the sense that I can enter my password and continue to use Ubuntu, but it would make sense if there's something hanging about in the background. It says "not installed" 'cos I'm using a kernel from here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/709794/dell-xps-13-9350-compatibility - to get my wifi to work. Does this make this bug invalid?
