I'm having the same problem in Ubuntu 13.10 on an Asus N53SV laptop. I have disabled the power saving as described in #54, I'll report if that fixes the problem. I'm also affected by the following bug, which seems to be caused by suspend/wake up issues, it might be related (in my case)?
