Should also say that I'm basing this on using hda-jack-sense-test too. I
am running 13.04 with 3.8.0-30 kernel. It's been a problem for me with
all kernels on 13.04 (I've never run anything other than 13.04 as the
retina support apparently was tricky before this version).

I don't know how to apply this update. I'm running Ubuntu exclusively on
this machine and it seems to be a windows binary.
Is it safe to run via wine? Is there some Windows live usb image (the
computer doesn't even have a cd/dvd drive) for that? Is any
