I'm now running Ubuntu 13.10, which, using a 3.10 kernel, doesn't
exhibit this problem.
Moreover, it looks like it'd be a little fiddly to upgrade the BIOS as
I'd need to use the FreeDOS variant, not having Windows installed at
all. Given that I no longer run an affected version, I don
