I'm having a similar issue running 12.04 with the Trusty hardware enablement stack; kernel v3.13. I have the MCP51 controller and get random protocol flaps even with the physical link still up. This causes problems as I have an NFS auto mounted home directory. My only workaround has been to

Forcedeteh driver had issues with my NVIDIA Corporation MCP51 Ethernet Controller (rev a3) in ubuntu 13.10. Ethernet drops time after time and have to reset. It's a recurrent issue in the last versions. Maybe some change in the kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a
