I have just installed amd64 kernel from here http://kernel.ubuntu.com /~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.12-saucy/ and restarted the laptop. On startup, there it is, multiple crashes. If I can help you with something else, please do say. I am willing to even let you remotely use my machine if it can help
