Title:

I have copied the /boot/vmlinux-3.13.0-0-generic and gave it as the
kernel in qemu command for starting the ubuntu kvm guest wiht the new
kernel images installed :
[root@lep8a Ubuntu_alpha1]# qemu-system-ppc64 -enable-kvm -M pseries
-cpu POWER8 -smp cores=4,threads=1 -m 70G -nographic -append earl
I have also tried to download the latest .deb packages from the link:
http://ppa.launchpad.net/canonical-kernel-
team/bootstrap/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux/
Then tried to manually install them on the ubuntu kvm guest:
root@ubuntu:~# dpkg --install
linux-image-3.13.0-0-generic_3.13.0-0.15_ppc64el.d
I have tried to upgrade the kernel by executing the below command in the
ubuntu guest:
root@ubuntu:~# apt-get dist-upgrade
Preparing to replace linux-image-3.13.0-0-generic 3.13.0-0.10+ppc64el (using

Done.

Don't forget that upgrading your VM isn't enough to be booting the new
kernel, since you're booting with an external vmlinux. So, after the
apt-get dist-upgrade, you'll want to copy /boot/vmlinux out and use that
to boot qemu.

Ok the Ubuntu-3.13.0-0.15 kernel should now be in the bootstrap PPA,
this is supposed to fix this issue. Could we test that and confirm the
bug is fixed. Please report any testing back here. Thanks.

I have done apt-get update and also did apt-get install linux* to install the
latest kernel and other packages onto my Ubuntu guest.
Then rebooted the guest image after the installed packages.
root@ubuntu:~# dpkg --list | grep linux-image

@Pavaman -- we have just updated the Ubuntu kernel to the 3.13-rc6 base
and this should now available for update. If you could update the
kernel to 3.13.0-0.13 and confirm whether the issue is still present
that would help a lot. Please report any testing to the bug.
Thanks in advance.
