Instead, resolution is limited to 1920x1200. However, if I connect this monitor via displayport, it works fine; it also worked fine in 13.10. Some weird things: apparently, the driver thinks the DVI port is actually an HDMI port. I found bugs #859389 (old), #890088 (mint, nvidia not intel), and #980453 (also nvidia, also old) which also refer to false recognition as an HDMI port. I found a thread (in german) http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/2560x1440-funktioniert-ploetzlich- nicht-mehr-d/ which sounds exactly like my problem. Attempting to force the resolution with xrandr didn't work (and resulted in some odd errors I can't interpret), but using the results of "gtf 2560 1440 30.0" (i.e. 30fps not 60) at least temporarily worked, but the display (predictably) looks pretty laggy.
