Ben, once your BIOS update is complete, if still reproducible please post the
results of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
and then test the latest mainline kernel via http://kernel.ubuntu.com

systems are incorrectly identified by ubuntu-bug. The are both using
