X550L same issue here. But my sound working perfectly but audio input
like a heal. Some times it work perfect. But when after sleep and
resume it same trouble again So what to do solve this.

This same bug with the same hardware exists. I have a fresh install of
kubuntu 14.0.1 fully updated and I have this issue on my X550L laptop.

I have the same problem on my asus x550LC, but wheni connect an external
microphone it work.

Can you test some of the newer release candidates[0] from rc3 up to rc8
to identify the exact rc where the regression was introduced? Once we
know the last good and first bad kernels, we can bisect to find the
commit that introduced the regression.
