[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1402957] Re: kernel panic on bootup exit code: 0x000000b0 - now I can`t boot
OP said here: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90001#c5 This is RAM issue I have mixed 2x4GB Hynix CL 11-11-11-28 and Geil 8GB CL 10-10-10-28. After remove Geil RAM this problem disappear. And as far as I am concerned (see my #44 comment above) I fixed mine (besides it was in Gentoo) by recreating my initramfs with --luks parameter. So I am thinking this isn't an issue anymore? Maybe OP(Stanimir) can confirm here too. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1402957] Re: kernel panic on bootup exit code: 0x000000b0 - now I can`t boot
Stanimir, you may want to simply overwrite just your Utopic partition with Trusty (preserving your Windows partition) so that you may continue dual booting. Having a VMware image wouldn't be helpful here, as the issue is hardware dependent, and the hardware changes from the OSes perspective going from physical to virtual. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1402957 Title: kernel panic on bootup exit code: 0x00b0 - now I can`t boot Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: after upgrade to ubuntu 14.10 on the first bootup I have always Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exit code 0x00b0 (I`m not sure for the exit code) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: ubuntu-release-upgrader-core 1:14.10.9 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-28.37-generic 3.16.7-ckt1 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-28-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.14.7-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 CrashDB: ubuntu Date: Tue Dec 16 09:19:33 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-12-06 (739 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal - Release amd64 (20121017.5) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: ubuntu-release-upgrader Symptom: release-upgrade UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to utopic on 2014-12-09 (6 days ago) --- ApportVersion: 2.12.5-0ubuntu2 Architecture: i386 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: ubuntu 2942 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: ubuntu 2942 F pulseaudio CasperVersion: 1.336ubuntu1 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander - Release i386 (20131016.1) MachineType: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
