No, removing the line "AutostartCondition=GSettings
org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons" does not help.
Furthermore, if I type "gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-
desktop-icons true" manually before I run Files (Nautilus) for the first
time, it will not show wallpaper.

By any chance, did you disable your Nautilus startup item? It's the one
defined in:
/etc/xdg/autostart/nautilus-autostart.desktop

In any case, the file I mentioned above has this autostart condition,
that might be what's causing your problem:
AutostartCondition=GSettings org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-
icons

Workaround: Create the following script:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons true
sleep 2
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons false
Explanation: The first line shows both wallpaper and icons. The second
line waits until wallpaper is fully
