Unfortunately after upgrading from 16.04 -> 16.10 -> 17.04 the issue
still exists. After hibernating the windows are surrounded with pixels
and stripes. See screen shot attached in #5

I experience the same or a similar issue. After hibernate the edges
around the window will contain lots of pixels and stripes. Screenshot
attached. The only way that I know to fix this is to reboot. Are there
any work around until this gets properly fixed?

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.11 kernel[
