Title:
trackpad looses sync and hangs -- 16.10 worked but 17.10 does not

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
This refers to bugs 1736017 and 1553264

Basically, the touchpad of my Lenovo Yoga260 hangs, resulting in e.g.
missed mouse clicks. Sometimes, the touchpad/trackpoint become only
usable again after a rmmod psmouse && modprobe psmouse.

Interestingly, these problems did not occured in 16.04 and now in
17.10, but 16.10 ran fine (I used it for over a year). More info can
  be found here:
  http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1736017

  I updated the BIOS to N1GET82W (1.61 ) (Release Date: 09/30/2017) but
this did not change the behaviour.
