Public bug reported: When trying to transfer a file from Windows 10 to Ubuntu 18.04 over samba, transfer speed fluctuates up and down between 20MB/s and 110MB/s. When transfering from Ubuntu to Windows 10 speed is steady at 90MB/s (instead of 110MB due to a bug that I've already reported)
Iperf3 shows consistent speeds without any fluctuation. I'm quite disappointed because there was no such problem a few weeks before. I'm guessing that this may have been an update that broke it. It's unlikely that I wouldn't have noticed it, because I was troubleshooting another issue related to transfer speeds. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1806106 Title: Inconsistent/slow file transfer speed TO Ubuntu 18.04 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When trying to transfer a file from Windows 10 to Ubuntu 18.04 over samba, transfer speed fluctuates up and down between 20MB/s and 110MB/s.
