I'm uncertain if this channel is still open, but It seems that the problem has returned. I'm not quite sure why, I think it might be that I didn't properly update to boot parameters when I was testing kernel 5.3.0 - 994 but either way, it seems that the new kernel isn't a solution. booting with the parameter intel_idle.max_cstate=4 seems to have solved the issue, thank you. Is this a permanent fix or will I eventually need to alter this with a future kernel update?
