2019-12-24 Thread Stephen George Dunmore
Kai-Heng, this was the first time that I had submitted a bug-report, so I
wasn't aware that I had to collect a bug report number. I now know, I think,
that the ReportNumber is in the URL of the report address, but otherwise I
don't know it.
Would it be buried in a local Apport file. I did look, but didn't see anything
obvious.
Other than that you will need to supply a bit of extra knowledge for me to
search further.
Thanks, Steve.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1856077] Re: Fix latency issue on Realtek Bluetooth

2019-12-21 Thread Stephen George Dunmore
As I have previously reported via ubuntu-bug, but without the addition of
regression-update, this 'fix' for kernel drivers had stopped my BT in its
tracks. Restored a previous disk image free of updated kernel drivers.
I have now found how to avoid this install with a reliable check box in Gnome
Package Updater, v 3.28.0-2.
Using Ubuntu 18.04 on a Toshiba P770
Yet to be tried on a Toshiba L755.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1856077] Re: Fix latency issue on Realtek Bluetooth

2019-12-12 Thread Andy Whitcroft
Hello Kai-Heng, or anyone else affected,

Accepted linux-firmware into bionic-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-
firmware/1.173.14 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.
