You have been subscribed to a public bug: When booting my Lenovo E490 with the Lenovo Powered USB-C Travel Hub (a kind of dock) already attached, the machine crashes after entering password into the graphical login interface. More precisely the login does not complete (in a reasonable time frame) and I cannot switch to another virtual terminal. Some menus can be selected, but there is no action (e.g. reboot) and I have to do a hard shutdown (pressing the power button for 4 sec.). The log files show a kernel oops. When attaching the dock after login the system seems to work normally.
I do have the latest displaylink drivers installed (www.displaylink.com). Attached is a log file snippet. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.4 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-03-25 (483 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20190210) Package: mutter 3.36.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-40.44-generic 5.4.44 Tags: focal Uname: Linux 5.4.0-40-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev remote sambashare sudo wireshark _MarkForUpload: True ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-collected focal -- Partial freeze if booting with USB-C dock attached https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1887914 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
