Title:
"perf record" doesn't have compression enabled

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
"perf record --help" indicates that it should support compression:

  """
         -z, --compression-level[=n]
Produce compressed trace using specified level n (default: 1 -
fastest compression, 22 - smallest trace)
  """

However, when trying to use that option, one gets the following error:
  """
    Error: unknown switch `z'

   Usage: perf record [<options>] [<command>]
      or: perf record [<options>] -- <command> [<options>]

  [etc.]
  """
