Public bug reported:

The feature is a request from oem and desktop, we would need the new
privacy-screen changes that landed upstream for 5.17 to be backported to
the Ubuntu kernel the LTS will include

The corresponding changeset is
https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/457641/

Corresponding drm/i915 changes just landed yesterday on drm-intel-next
yesterday and should flow back to linux-next today

Corresponding userland changes will be part of the new GNOME this cycle

It's also worth noting that we will need tweaks to the initrd generation
as reported on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1954320
