FWIW I also just tried 24.04 as well as the latest BIOS update (1.37).
The issue appears to be significantly worse. I was initially unable to
boot into a desktop environment at all.
Changing the BIOS setting for Display to Discrete (from Hybrid) meant
that everything worked but monitor detection
Hoping to see the issue go away with the new Ubuntu 24.04 on a HP HP
ProDesk 400 G3 DM/82A5 and it uses Intel HD Graphics 630. But nope still
happens. I needed to pull the power for a bit before screen would come
back properly. Is there additional information needed to troubleshoot
the issue?
See same issue using Ubuntu 23.10 on a HP HP ProDesk 400 G3 DM/82A5 and
it uses Intel HD Graphics 630. Occasionally I will get a black screen
with no ability to activate which then requires a reboot. Sometimes I
will need to power off and unplug hdmi cable.
i915 :00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR*
Facing same issue on 6.6.10-76060610-generic on Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS using
Dell Inspiron 15 7567.
Screen fails to recover after suspend/sleep giving this error, can't
switch to ttys either, only solution is to force reboot, which is very
annoying as I lose all my work from the session.
I've seen
Same problem on 6.5.0-17-generic #17~22.04.1-Ubuntu.
