Public bug reported: [Impact] dell_laptop created a non-working backlight driver before nvidia is loaded, that leads to the system can't adjust the display brightness.
[Fix] The patch prevents platform driver(dell_laptop) from creating backlight driver after win8. https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-acpi/patch/20230608091258.7963-1-hdego...@redhat.com/ [Test] Verified on the dell platform which reports this issue. [Where problems could occur] The assumption of the backlight control is that after win8 all laptops backlight are controlled by either ACPI or native graphic driver.
