OK, in comments #22 and #23, we have outputs with ccid compiled with the
patch to add some more debug in #24.
Comment #22 features a working Lenovo laptop.
Comment #23 features the HP laptop.
For some reason, the HP laptop hits the IFDHICCPresence() function's
CCID_ICC_PRESENT_INACTIVE case and
I've never really dared to use btrfs since back in 2012 it was still
horribly broken and I value my files. From what I can see, the problem
discussed in this ticket is fixed in the version in trusty.

then bails the upgrade.
However, it could check that even though cpu has no PAE support yet the
currently running kernel does have PAE config option enabled and continue with
the upgrade.

I would think Boris is after memory related special settings on the host and
guest (if you can reveal those). Could be you are hinting that at least for the
host the config was not modified. I assume still using the xm/xend stack. The
other info there would be the number assigned to mem of guest
If the kernel is booted, then forcepae must have been supplied, and if
it is supplied then PAE should be flagged in cpuinfo. It looks like
this is only about copying forcepae across. See comment #8 for that.

What is strange is the response RDR_to_PC_SlotStatus (first byte 81h) when a
card is present and powered.
The normal CCID frame should be:
81 00 00 00 00 00 xx _00_ 00 00
00 is: An ICC is present and active (power is on and stable, RST is inactive)
But in the case of the HP we have:
81 00 00 00 0
This change was made by a bot.
