Okay, I got it to work, too now. Nevertheless, my bluetooth does not get
initialized every time after a fresh reboot.
Trying sudo modprobe btusb then gives:

No side effects yet, but it makes the boot a lot nicer, the plymouth
loading screen with the Lubuntu logo now shows through the whole boot
time. Before the workaround there was a black screen for 15+ seconds,
I agree that this bug should be fixed with the given workaround.

3.0 for me (and several other people, I suppose).

I confirm Joe's findings. I own an HP Pavilion 11 x2 . Before I upgraded
to Ubuntu 14.04 Snapshot 1 my clickpad was recognized as evDev based
mouse device. But after an kernel update last week or so my clickpad
stoped working completly. My ELAN Touchscreen is still recognized as
evDev
As requested, i have tested on live image, but was unable to reproduce
the issue on ubuntu-12.04.3-desktop-amd64, have attached, few files
taken from regression tests.

I have added your ppa but when I run `sudo apt update sudo apt
upgrade` it only offers me to upgrade `linux-libc-dev` package and
nothing else. Is that good? I suppose it should offer me to update 4-5
linux related packages from your repository and have I haven't installed

The Kernel installed in our environment is compiled using GCC 4.8.2
(check dmesg | head). Hence I don't think this is related.

Still getting the same error when Software Updater tries to install the new
linux-headers file. Unable to remove the old file.
I used your instructions in terminal (after two tries and reboots) to install
the first update successfully, but all subsequent updates simply will not
I tried one more time, saw a message in Terminal which said you may
need to use autoremove -- so I executed that, then tried to install the
header package again through Software Updater.
Received error message again: unable to move aside to install new version.
Simply won't install it.
