Sorry I didn't mention that this is a new laptop which according to the forums
show that now who has managed to install Ubuntu onto the laptop cannot get the
touchpad working. I have tried v4.15 with no luck.
Are you able to help. I hate having to use w10 when I don't have access to a
mouse.
4.15-rc7 works with MAAS. I've commissioned, tested, and entered rescue
mode without hitting any kernel panics.

I've updated the machine to the linux-hwe kernels, and experienced an
almost instant crash when booting. Nothing is shown on the VGA output,
so no stack traces are available.

upgrading it to the latest on Jan 11, 2018. I have a command line only
system (it is just a really basic firewall) and the keynel is logging

Title:
External HDMI monitor failed to show screen
I tried pretty much everything I could find online, the solution was
simply backing-up my files through the grub recovery root shell and then
reinstalling.

Hello I've the kernel version 4.13.0-26 and I'm experiencing problem
mounting CIFS:
# sudo mount -t cifs //mydomain.com/documents /home/nico/mnt/documents -o
user=nico
mount error(2): No such file or directory
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)
This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem.
While running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel)
